Vi Trinh’s animation, THANK YOU, explores the relationship between power and powerlessness, and thus casts the characters of humans, institutions, and animals. Trinh uses a sliding scale of greyness to show a false dichotomy between nature and humans. As we watch bear and woman dance between nature and audience, we are struck by the loss that power relationships inevitably breed.
