Zander Porter’s I’m Your Pixelpleasure (2017) is an imbrication of the internet pop culture feed and the bruising reality of identity in politics. The performance unfolds along the constructed storyline of winning RuPaul’s Big Brother Survivor Race where everyone—the performers and users—are implicated in the shallowness of the quest, despite real-world consequences. Porter’s piece asks for our attention, our humor, and our curiosity.
